Hippyness

seventies

You must have seen them, the work-the-seventies looks. The seventies are back and designers brought there new collections fulled with fringes, leather, gladiator, suède, khaki and more. These collections all are seventies-like and with several (welcome) bohemian, hippy touches; especially now that the yearly Coachella festival has begun.

GLADIATOR SANDALS

gladiator

The gladiator sandal is the part that comes with this trend that I love the most! From Chloé to Zara, every brand as there one pair now! My favorites are the low, black ones from Gianvito Rossi.

FRINGS

frings

Frings, I really like them because they make a piece look much more elegant and feminine. And with this new trend there are lots of them! Let me show you a couple of my favorites.

WHITE CROCHETED LACE (TOPS)

bohemian chic style spring lace top

The last item I’ll be showing you from the seventies looks, is the crocheted lace item that you can spot in every store at the moment! I really like them because they bring a twirly, loose twist to an outfit. They also lean to Moroccan style.

Favorite Blogger Of The Week

Favorite Blogger Of The Week

This week my favorite blogger is … Caroline from Un-Fancy.com! Caroline is a fashion blogger from the USA who currently lives in Texas. Why I like her so much? She isn’t just a fashion blogger. She invented this thing called a ‘capsule wardrobe’, every 3 months she chooses 25-30 pieces that she loves out of her closet and wears them for 3 months! Then she changes; it’s really cool and worthy trying!

How To Find The Clothes You’re Really Looking For

IMG_9400.JPG

We all see those girls who are wearing that one thing we really want, but can’t seem to find anywhere. Or you’re going shopping, looking for a really beautiful piece and come home  empty handed or with something you’re excited about first, but only wear once or twice. Well I have a few tips you can use to avoid all of those things and build yourself a wardrobe you love!

Shop By Color

If you want a garment in a specific color or you just want a bright piece, the best thing to do is to enter a store and just search for bright colors like yellow, orange, red or anything else that draws your attention. You can do just the same thing for neutrals like white, black, nude or grey. Then you don’t waste your time looking at other things.

Do Some Research

Before you go shopping, it’s better to search the web for the items you’re looking for so you know in which stores you might find them.

In The Fitting Rooms

A closet full of clothing you love, starts in the fitting rooms. If you’re wearing something, you should ask yourself the following questions before buying :

– Do I feel confident and pretty in this garment?
– Do I like the color?
– Does this piece fit my body type?
– (Maybe a bit stupid but it does really help) Am I excited to wear this?
– Can I combine it with the clothes I already have?
– Do I like it enough to pay the price/does it fall under my budget?

I know they all sound really stupid, but when your answers are all ‘yes’, I’m sure you’ll wear the piece a lot!

Dont’s That Turned Into Do’s Over The Years

Fashion is a world by it’s self and a lot of things change over the years. Even the things that are once completely undoable and a big buzz turn into the newest trends. That doesn’t happen much, ,but some of them really turn into big trends every fashionista pulls off like these ones;

image

This was the big trend in the summer of 2014. Everyone had them (well except for me than). I don’t know, I still don’t like them. Alexa Chung can wear them perfectly, but – I mean – she can pull off a garbage bag, right? Were you a fan of this trend?

These pool slippers were a total buzz back in the days. They were the pair of shoes a bold forthy year old man wore paired with a white shirt that showed his belly button. But the fashion icons started wearing them in 2012 and they finally sort of broke free and became a trend in the summer of 2013. For me they’re just as bad as the Birkenstocks, but they in the photo they really look cool.

And last but not least: print mixing. This used to be a buzz, but now we know how to do it right and it really works. This trend I do love! It’s not easy to find the right pieces to combine, so if you need some tips like I do then just click on the link below.

Favorite Blogger Of The Week

fashionata

As much as I love blogging, I also really enjoy reading other people’s stuff. And especially articles about fashion and style. That’s why I’m starting a new series called (you guessed it) ‘Favorite Blogger Of The Week’ and this very first time that title goes to an amazing Belgian fashion blogger: Sofie Valkiers from fashionata.com! She has a-mazing outfits and I when I need some inspiration I just go right to her site and I’ll find some! I picked out this picture from her blog, because 1. it’s a very recent one and 2. I adore this outfit! She just makes the jacket pretty, aaa-and did you notice?; she’s wearing Stan Smith’s ;) ! What’s there not to like?

10 DAYS TO LOVERE

20140808-132221.jpg

I didn’t blog for about 10 days. That’s because I’ve spent the last 10 days in a sunny village called Lovere. I love to travel and one of my biggest dreams is to make a trip around the world. I’ve been in Italy for a few times and I have to say that I really adore the country. I love the language, the food, the views, the weather and – of course- the fashion. Lovere is very pretty.
